Oh bureacracy...is it worth it? Depends on how angry you are. Otherwise, it's like trying to piss up a rope.

Always park in a garage in the city, never on the street!
the 535 always goes in a garage or valet. luckily i am going to be moving into a brand new skyscraper downtown with a 5 story parking garage below and a reserved spot, so when i go out downtown, i will be walking or taking the free shuttle. the car will spend a lot of time covered in the parking garage.

Average parking violation for me is $60 for a expired meter in NYC. Sux big time. i wish it was $10...that would be amazing..LOMAG- I would definitely follow up on that claim of yours. Doesnt hurt...if you have a lawyer friend and he can write it on his letterhead, even better. 2 years is definitely not reasonable time. You would have a strong case if you took pictures with a datestamp two years ago, and now. Pictures are key.

i hate those boots. That's why I carefully look at the signs about a million times. File a claim anyway. Argue that: "They can give you a ticket but not vandalize your car." It's vandalism if the POS boot they put on your wheel damaged it. Good luck fighting the government though. Let us know the outcome.

i would actually just illegally park and pay the 10 dollar fine.

hahahaha  , $10 fine, your lucky man. illegally parked vehicle in NYC will run you anywhere btw $125 to $250 depending on the violation. :(
Another great reason not to drive a car in NYC.

Alright, I'm going to submit it. I've got the NYC claim for filled out, a detailed letter attached, pictures and a price quote for a new rim and mounting and balancing. I'll have it notarized tomorrow and send it out and we'll see in a few months! I'll let you guys know what the result is although I'm not too optimistic that it'll be in my favor.
