My Ride: 2007 530i. Purchased 6/28/07. Titanium Silver Metallic, Black Dakota Leather, Dark Poplar Trim, Steptronic, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, Bluetooth, Adaptive Control Xenons. 10/30/07 Added OEM 124s with 245/40/18 & 275/35/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. This side of a Maserati or Bentley BMW builds the best driving cars in their class.
7's have real presence and offer good driving dynamics for their size.
The 550 combines the lighter E60 chassis with the same engine that powers the 7 which is the oldest formula in cars that are fun.
M cars are a different breed, very connected, very sharp with quick reactions to the slightest input.
I miss my M3 but also think my V8 5er is a better every day car. The 7's are nice but the every step up in size requires a trade off in driving dynamics.
My nirvana is an M3 for weekends and V8 5er for everyday.
