Default NOT AGAIN?! Coolant leaking?

So my car is leaking lots and lots of coolant and i took my car to a mechanic today after i got an error of low coolant after i filled it up the first time to make sure of the leak and he said it is the water pump thats gone bad apparently. There is splattered water on the engine adn such as well.

I had my water pump and thermostat fail at about 55k miles and both were replaced about 18 months ago and now I am at about 67k miles is it possible that it went bad again?

I remember when it went out I got an overheating error, check engine light, and so on but right now i don't have either one. Something seems odd here..any idea if it actually is the pump or its somethign else and he is trying to pump some $ out of me.

He also mentioned I need to bleed it via a computer for about $160?

Also i have an error stating 1) Brake pads need to be replaced even though I have changed them I guess i didnt' reset it and he said its part of teh $160.

2) I have an error taht says front daylight lamp running, is this usually a fuze or a modulator? because he mentioned it might be the modulator that costs nearly $500

3) anyone know why both windows say child safety on adn my left goes down 1/4 of the water 4x before its fully down and the right one just doesn't even come down due to this damn error.

Something doesn't sound right here to me... I would find another indy shop and at a minimum get another quote.

A few questions --

When you replaced the pump and thermo -- with what brands did you replace it with?

I assumed you replaced all appropriate gaskets and seals at the same time

Is this a 545i or 550i? If so:

There is coolant transfer pipe, with an o-ring style gasket that resides behind the water pump and is permanently affixed to the transfer pipe. There is for lack of a better description, a hole behind the water pump; that is where the coolant will leak from.

Start the car and with a strong flashlight see if you can ID leakage from this hole.

Since you had the pump replaced recently, I suspect its that seal that has failed. Huge expense I am afraid

the car is a 2008 535i.

I am not sure on the brand I have to call my mechanic and find out i heard warranty might be in play for the part.

the amount of leakage I am getting is about 75% of the container in 3 days.

The brake pad problem sounds like the pad wear sensors weren't replaced at the same time the pads were.

Explain the daylight lamp problem. Is idrive saying one side has a problem or not lit? You have an LCI 5 series, so if you have your headlights set on Auto mode, both daytime running lights (halos) should be on when the car is running. If one side is out, the bulb is either bad or the wire insulation has come off and caused a short circuit.

535i/335i's are known to have the water pumps go bad. Where are you located in CA? If you are close by I can take a look at it. Also, check the reservoir to see if there is a crack in it. Take a flashlight and check where it's leaking.

As for resetting the pads that is EASY to do. Turn the key to II position and press and hold the reset odometer...keep on pressing the odometer reset until you see the brake pads and press and hold to reset it. If the brake sensor wasn't replaced it will not reset.

As for the DRL have you tried to change out the bulbs?
