A most fine winter tyre manufacturer indeed! We have Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4 stud tyres in our 535dA and in our Citro?n C2 VTS (front-wheel drive ) and the tyres are marvellous on both cars! I'm feeling very confident driving these cars in snowy or icy conditions. On the other hand, the dry performance is not that good: The 535dA blinks the DSC warning light even on 4th gear pedal-to-the-metal acceleration

Tire dealer here has told me to look at Nokian winter tires.

Google doenst reveal terribly much. Does anybody here have any comments?

Also, dealer is considering that I look at BMW reconditioned rims. Any advice on this?

Thanks

I am in Quincy MA, and Nokian has authorizied dealers in MA. I just ordered 4 Nokian RSI snow tires ($139 each) for my Volvo wagon from Direct Tire in Watertown, MA. It is the best and is much better than my Volvo's original snow tires - NordFrost.

I had a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta NRW's on a '00 528 for 3 seasons in moderate southern New England weather. They were terrific--on snow, slush, dry surfaces, everything. They have evidently been replaced by WR's, but importers in the US apparently don't carry the size I now need, so I switched to Bridgestone Blizzaks from Tire Rack. If you can find Nokians in your size, go for them. Good luck!
