Noisy wipers....

Is it usual to have noisy wiper blades on the windscreen when its raining ?- mine are driving me potty as they screech back and forth. I thought some rainex might help but no...made them even worse.

Rainx actually maket things worse, this is my experience. Normally, the blades should be quiet. Are they old? Did you use the during the winter?

Mine were terrible, noise and chatter on the "back stroke". Yes, mine were potty also. Dealer replaced them at no cost. The new blades, seems like softer rubber, work great. Hope this helps

mikey.... not much to hassle around..... just get them replaced or buy new ones on your own.... wiper blades do wear off.... I get new ones every spring and they work great.....

I would try to avaid Rainx because even though it works to a certain degree, you will have to keep using it for the life of the car. That stuff coats your windshield with this wierd stuff that as soon as you stop using it, your widshied would start streaking. The coating doesn't seem to wash off for a long time.

Off to the dealers then to get them replaced. Apparantley I have service and maintenance inclusive so should they be covered? lets be honest, I don't want to pay for them if I don't need to!!!

Mine had been screeching like banshees for a couple of months now. It had been getting on my nerves a bit so I went round to the local BMW dealer yesterday morning and bought a new pair. (I don't have maintenence inclusive - although depending on old your car is, I'm not sure they'll replace them FOC in the UK).
Anyway, ?30+VAT later and the wipe action is as silent as it should be. Wish I'd replaced them earlier now! (The car is 2 years old and they are the original set so I can't complain).
