noise when parking car
#1
Just wondering if anyone else experienced a strange low clanging type noise after driving for awhile and then parking. I hear it in my garage for a few minutes and am not sure if this is normal. The noise is not noticeable when driving but it seems after the engine is shut off the clanging or clicking starts. I drive an '06 550. Thanks.

Totally normal. It is the various metal parts of the car cooling down after driving...
So it is.

I was worried for a while. I've got just over 3k on my 07 550i and the thing is loud. I park in a huge parking structure and I can hear it clicking and clanging from a long distance away. Good to hear this is normal as I am otherwise fully satisfied with the performance.

It's probably the catalytic converter "cooling".
