noise when i turn engine off

hi guys. i have been searching all day to find a possible cause of my problem but couldnt find anything. so when i turn off the engine i hear a knocking noise ( just like when you hit a metal with a hammer) from the front end area. one time only but everytime i shut it off. i have auto transmission and M54 engine. any help appreciated. thanks

not sure if this helps but in my previous car when i would turn off the engine, i would hear a repeated knock. and i was told that it was the oil dripping on the oil pan.

My car has a little knock too when I turn off the engine. I don't think it's anything to worry about and I think it happens when the transmission engages into park.

Any more feedback on this? Since I have exactly the same thing on my 2009 E61 530. Only picked up the car a week ago and the engine has only done 41000km.

Stabilizer bar
Most likely it is the active stabilizer bar adjusting, totally normal. Almost sounds like a clunking noise. Has to do with the hydraulics resetting. I have a 2010 550 it does it all the time.
