i have a 2004 545I and when the sunroof is open to tilt while driving road inperfections causes the sunroof to make noise. like its rattling or something is loose and needs tightening. wondering if any one else has experienced this problem as well.. sorry if this has already been asked. i tried to look for the thread but couldn't find it. also does anyone know what the "triple turn signal activation" does, located in the idrive menu.
thanks in advance,
Roger

Hello there.
The triple turn signal: It lets u give the turn signal a small twitsh, it will turn flash 3 times and turn off by it self i.e: When your in the middle lane and want to go to the fast Left lane and want to warn people that your going to the left lane, just press the turn signal slightly(not all the way), it will turn on for 3 signals and turn off automatically.
The sound in the roof is the metal taping the glass. Putt your hand up and towards the front, you see a metal piece. just pull it down a bit, slightly, DONT WORRY, nothing will happen. You'll have to do that every time you tilt up, but i remember there was a permanent solution which i don't recall.
Hope it helps

cool...thanks for the info...i feel like such a goof... its just something so simple. haha. thanks alot...really appreciate it.
Don't worry about it
Just tell me if the roof works OK. I just remembered someone used some tape on the edge of the metal piece, that way it ll tap, but no sound. But I'm sure someone will chime in who has had this issue.

Might also try a recalibration of the sunroof for grins.
If I recall you just push and hold the sunroof switch in for 15 seconds, it'll tilt up even further and start a recalibration routine. Note that during that time no anti trap features will be active so don't put your hand in the way of the sunroof
Not sure its going to help, but worth a try.

Then I took my car to a more competent
dealership and they fixed it properly by
adjusting the sunroof glass.
