no voice on UK MY06 e60

My Ride: E60 530D
Reg 18th Sept 2003 (uk launch date)
xenons, wood, mirror pack, 17" rims, Hi Fi spkr,
Met Black
On Order 530D M Sport Auto Silver Grey
Visibility & Media Packs Wood & Lumber Support
my MY03 had bluettoth prep and I could get it to call home by pressing a button on the wheel and muttering ET's immortal line.
my MY06 still has the button and has bluetooth prep as part of the comms pak but the voice option doesn't work

If you are interested, I believe that it is possible to retro-fit extended voice to a car with the media pack since I asked on this forum a while back (I have a Mar '05 E61 with media pack and would like the voice control myself).

I AM SURMISING YOU HAVNT ALREADY GOT THE 2 BUTTONS! IF SO ITS A PROBLEM FOR DEALER TO SORT..

DONT PANIC GO TO THE DEALER AND ASK TO GET THE EXTENDED VOICE UPDATE.THIS REQUIRES THE MENU BUTTON BEHIND IDRIVE NOB TO BE CHANGED FOR 2 BUTTONS.MENU/VOICE AND A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. COST 140.....180POUNDS OR GET THEM TO DO IT UNDER A S/WARE PROBLEM .ARGUE THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED ON ORDER OF CAR.

just to confirm they upgraded your software and changed the button and only charged ?180 and then you could make calls from the steering wheel?

basically a wider range 0f voice commands ,really cant remember differences but the voice command structure is still not as broad as it could be.remember to poll the commands say 'options'for a list of commands at every stage of menus. navigation phone audio all menuscan be accessed
