Sorry if this has been posted previously. I have been traveling. Just got call from friend/source at BMW NA. Said for me to open my Dec 12th Issue of AutoCar. We get in US two weeks after issue is out in UK.

Wow. They said while not perfect, close. Except for front end similar but evolutionary look of existing 5 series. Front end however displays nose of CD Concept. Appearance of twin-turbo 4.4 V8.

If no one has posted pict I will try to scan.

March 09 ??? I thought it was 2010 ... that sucks, only just got my car a couple of months ago on the pretext that it wouldn't be out of date in 18 months. Hope that's not true.

I don't think 2009 is correct. I've heard 2010. (as a 2011 model in the US)

A seven year run is the economic model BMW assumes when launching a car so this would be a little soon if they are following the past ...............I don't think it will be that soon, 2.5 years or so I bet .

I wouldn't count on a March 09 release. BMW is pretty consistent - 7 year life cycles, 2 years between the 7er and the 5er.

The new 7er, the F01 I believe, is due out this fall as a MY09. It may not get to the US until Jan 09 or after. It's possible that the new 5er will be released in March 2010, but most likely in September. Whichever one, it will be a MY11 when released in the US.

Love the look, more aggressive. Cant come soon enough for me. To me, nothing is advancing as fast as cars. 400 HP sign me up.

Not sure about a Hybrid version though... I would leave that to Toyota. I want my BMW to be the best driving car with the best safety systems possible. I'll worry about the price of gas...

i think it will come in 09...as a 2010 model...because the first e60 model came out in 03 as a 04 model....and the 5 series life cycle is 7 years...so 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10.....7 years....so it will come out in 09...probably september though...not march

If it were to come out in 2009 as you suggest then it would be 6 years not 7. You're right about the E60 coming out in 2003 as a 2004 model,.........so add 7 years and the F10 should come out in 2010 as a 2011 model (not 2009 as a 2010 model).
