I have had 8.5x18 ET13 wheels in front without problems. That setup was pretty flush. Of course those 3mm (ET13 vs. ET10) can be crucial, who knows.
At the rear I've had 8.5x19 ET2 and that was pretty flush as well. Comparing that to 8.5x18 ET10 with a 10mm spacer, your wheel would sit 2mm more out than mine. Again, those 2mm can be fateful, but probably not.

I put this pic on the wrong post. 528i had another post and I was talking about center-bore on THAT one. But still, it's nice to know if the center-bore of the rim will match your hub, so he'll know if he needs a center hub ring or not. Sometimes vendors will sell you a larger center-bore rim and NOT give you the rings. Make sure you ask for them.
