Yeah, but mute is used more frequently than air recirc. As far as I'm concerned, the automatic mode of the air recirculation works perfectly for me 99% of the time. No need to duplicate that button on the steering wheel.
Mute on the wheel, on the other hand, could come in handy more often...

My Ride: MY 2004 545i; April build; 6 speed; silver grey metalic; black leather; poplar; sport package; cold weather; active steering; xenons .
Easily removable or adjustable baffles would be great. Some owners are rigging the exhaust pipes, but the procedure looks like a hassle and might adversely affect performance. More storage around driver would be a plus.

I would like to have a night mode for the 16:9 screen as I drive very often at night. I have seen it on MB and TomTom navigator. Darker colours make the drive easier for the eyes.

[/quote]First things first - resolve the stupid issues that shoud have been resolved:
1) LSD! LSD LSD - it's a must on a 60K+ car
2) Oil temp guage - it's stupid not to have it
3) Decent tires - Kill run flats
4) Trunk opening - there was nothing wrong with e-39 ( I can drive with it open and even close it if I hit a bump - Now all the stuff just flies out on the highway if you press that stupid button)
5) Seatbelt chimes - have to go (especially if you put a laptop on the passenger seat, I have a spare buckle i carry with me just to shut it off)
6) The latest SMG - why bog down the product they already purchased and spend money on R&D, (after driving M3 SMG for 2 years - Ican't stand the 545 version)
7) Real TPM system - like caddy CTS or MB that shows preassures in 4 wheels and has wheel senosrs (instead of half ass system that stops working after 90mph)
8) Active Steering as a switchable option (so when you take the car to the track you don't kill yourself. I know I can pull the fuse but the whole DSC system goes bonkers)
9) Multystage DSC with less intrusive mode (like M track mode - again technology is there why not offer an option?)
10) Voice activated address input into Nav (nuts to screw with those letters)
11) Traffic report system (like Acura or BMW in Europe) - again technology is there
12) Last but not least: FIX THE GODDAM CUP HOLDERS - they suck

Convenience
1) Convenience package like 7 (soft trunk, door closing)
2) Comfort aceess (like 7)
2) Ventilated, heated active seats (front and rear like 7) with M dynamic option front (like M5) - why not give this option in US?
3) Entertainmnet package (Like European 7 with big screens behind fron seats)
4) M technik appearance package - make available in US
5) Build in or custom made BMW baby/booster seats with ISOFix or better system to set up the safety standard
