Should be edited for content or put into the lounge. This is not related to E60 technical info.

Don't even get me started on some of the things, but:

-Voice Command for everyone (even without NAV)
-Temperature gauge
-memory for lumbar support
-no phone box in center console (only as an option)

Oh yeah, and somewhere to close the trunk without getting your hands dirty! How about a wrist strap or something? And if the trunk would close easily, it wouldn't be as big of a deal, but since you need ridiculous brute force to close the trunk, give us a hand, bmw!!!

What dealer can do about the trunk is to decrease another notch that the spring connected to inside the trunk. Open the trunk liner in the trunk and investigate the spring, you'll see what I meant.

Soft trunk closer is a must. Surprisingly, option ZCV (Convenience Pkg) in 745i is Soft Close Automatic Doors & Automatic Trunk Open & Close which costs $910 (invoice) and $1000 (MSRP). I don't think BMW will install it on E60 for free.

Well, if I had any decent dealers, they could decrease it another notch... BUT, since everyone around here SUCKS, they all say "normal operation" "normal operation" "normal operation" like parrots, even though I specifically asked them to do just that. They all said it wasn't possible. I knew they were lying but I had other things to fight about with them than the trunk.

Our trunk is really bad. As one of the very early cars, it has one of the most aggressive trunks. I've noticed later cars are much slower opening.
I am fully capable of closing the trunk with empty hands... it's just with full hands that it's a problem.
As for the license plate, we just have the plate on, with no surround, so it is very close to the trunk lid itself and not something I can really grab hold of. And besides, it's DIRTY, which is the whole point.

I once launched a hot cup of coffee in a styrofoam cup off my trunk lid clear past the front bumper!
