I have a BMW 2004 E60 (530dA) with 140 000 Km

This week i went to a BMW dealer and they put in my car a new turbo, but when I walk on the road seems more a recovered turbo. Have I the possibility to verify if the turbo is a new or a recovered? If I disassemble any parts have i the possibility to verify this?
Thanks a lot

I don't think you should disassemble anything. Just go back and demand the information from the dealer!

A lot of the major component we buy as 'new' are rebuilt rather than brand-new. It is standard procedure especially with transmissions.

A turbo is a simple device with one moving part, actually one assembly of parts that rotates. A rebuilt turbo is probably less sinful than a rebuilt transmission.
