Have you checked the tires? 15k miles isn't much yet, but if wheel alignment is bad the tires will wear unevenly. Or maybe there's a damage in some tire?

I couldn't agree more. It just amazes me the number of threads that I see contemplating various cheap or high tread wear tires. With tires you generally get what you pay for, why would you spend $$$ to buy a BMW, rightly famed for their handling, road feel and excellent steering response/feedback, and then screw it up with unsuitable tires. Performance car = performance tires.
