My MY04 530i (pre-Bluetooth compatible production date) went in to the dealership for a routine maintenance. I complained about my iDrive malfunctoning and sticking, rattling from doors, stuck cup-holder, and brake sqeak. They fixed everything under warranty, replaced the TCU and upgraded me to v19. My question is, do I now have Bluetooth capability? I've read that all I need is to have a Bluetooth compatible TCU to have capability. Is there anything that I should ask the dealer to do to get Bluetooth on my car? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

If the TCU is a current one, then it's likely you can now have BT on your car. The dealer might have to do something in the software to activate it or it might just show up now. Do you have the car back? If so, look in the communications menu and see what shows up. If the dealer still has the car, ask them to activate BT for you...

[/quote]From My expirernce with BMW they most liekly replaced your old TCU with a NEW TCU but the same model as the old one. I doubt they gave you a new release version, since you have no need for the new version in your car. ANd the price of replaceing the TCU with a new Version As aposed to replaceing you old TCU with a New but still the same version is about 1500.00 difference. So i bet you are still not able to get Bluetooth. I had to fight with my dealer to get them to put an updated version TCU otherwise my SA stated they woulde always replace it with a new but old version TCU...let us know good luck
