Hey guys, how can you check for the software version from I Drive? Is there a key shortcut that displays a hidden menu?

there is NO known way to see the version# at this point. if you do a search, you will find the directions on how to access the "secret/hidden" menu.

If you go to the dealer, ask them for a print out with the version number.

I have 15.2 and had the first issue yesterday with the first non-boot. Black screen until I stopped the car and restarted it. First time in a month though.

I also noticed that when you crank the key, there is a 1/2 second delay until the car starts. It is very slight and doesnt bug you, but it certainly feels that the computer is starting the car and not the key. It's like a badly dubbed over japanese movie where the sound is slightly behind the image LOL

Yup, Iceman's right - I just got the upgrade after taking my car in for the emissions recall. It's great - active steering is not as sharp at low speeds, I get RDS now on FM, and my phone doesn't have the annoying echo anymore!

Do it, but make sure you take it to a dealer that has a lot of experience with the new BMW's!

No nav, version 13.2 I believe was the original installed in my May '04 build car.

Here's a better qualifier... did you have bluetooth prior to the 15.2 upgrade?

I have an Aug 04 car but had to get upgraded to 13.2 (or was it 13.3?) to get bluetooth. I'm just wondering if the changes you refer to above was new in 15.2 or already there in 13.2/13.3...

I upgraded three weeks ago from what was said to be 13.2 to 15.1 and here is some minor notes that is perhaps almost nerdy

1. Active steering firmer
2. Tyre monitor sensitivity better (no false alarm since upgrading)
3. Sensitivity of passenger seat sensor for seatbelts increased (heavy briefcase will now trigger it)
4. Changes in TMC function (dynamic rerouting now to be confirmed, transfer message on iDrive instead of no message etc.)
5. No fix for window trap sensitivity (maybe this can?t be done in software as others seems to have (temporarily) solved this with various physical actions - and even changes of mechanism)
6. Quicker booting
7. MPG meter seems recalibrated to be more accurate (or I?m just imagining it)
8. Some new quirks I haven?t seen before (eg. phonebook reversing alphabetical order intermittently etc.)

best objetti

I did not have bluetooth capability beforehand. I don't know if I have it now, since my cellphone isn't bluetooth compatible.
