After reading this I think I was wrong about cleaning the windows. I think I unknowingly reset the windows at the same time I was cleaning them. It probably has nothing to do with them being dirty.

I do think it is interesting that the VPC and the dealer had apparently not done this reset procedure as part of the pre-delivery process though. I suspect that the windows lost their top & bottom limits while the battery was disconnected during shipping or maybe due to the software update at the VPC. It makes me wonder what else they missed/skipped.
