My '09 535i just finished production 15 Jan. I wonder if it will have the new iDrive system? I'm hoping so, but I don't think it will.
Now I'm waiting for it to be released to the carrier. I'm guessing another 3 weeks before I see the beauty.

My '09 535i is supposed to finished production 1/20 - I too am hoping it has the new CIC iDrive but from all indications it won't come until the March timeframe and might kickoff off the 2010 model 535i. My hope is that they decided to switch to the new iDrive for North America customers after the Dingolfing factory break ended Jan 9. I guess we'll find out when the first January production models show up in the US.
Does BMW have a history of introducing upgraded components in the middle of a production year or is it safe to say that based on past history it will only come in March as scheduled and coincide with the 2010 model?

ALL E60s which are entering production from January 2009 onwards within the factory will have the new CIC and Hardware + Software. The 5er catalog has been updated over here.
What I do NOT know is when your car is manufactured when it is supposed to be delivered in March 09 in USA.... Just hope the best for you....

Edit: hmmm, if configured with BMW UK configurator and not selecting navigation seems to bring new iDrive/CIC still. So, I just ordered mine too early ... or they have an error in configurator.

My car is delivered in December to dealer, in January to me. And it has the new iDrive with hard drive (just as a lot of other people in Holland have it now).
I ordered professional navigation, I guess I ordered in October/November and then it was already confirmed I would get the full new iDrive.
It's nice! and dangerous :-) as the first weeks of driving you're looking to the screen a lot to explore all new functions.........
