Hello all.....
Just perusing your site.....
I have a 2oo4 325ci........black on black with adaptive xenons, sports package, steptronic trans......
Well...here is my dilemma..... I only have 5500 miles on it...and it is still in PERFECT CONDITION......and best part...Fully paid.....
Well i am falling in love with the White 5 series......and i am considering a poss. trade in for the 525i......
Can anyone give me any info on the 525i..... some others have told me that if i cant get the 530 then it wouldnt be worth it....but i am not really interested in the 0-60 in 4 sec.....LOL...just want a bigger, 4 door, awesome car...and i think the 5 might be it....
I have gone from my old 3 series which was 4cyl. to my new 3 which is 6cyl. and i will never go back....but i was wondering how the 525i would hold up against the drive in my 3.....just b/c i am assuming that the 3 is alot lighter...which may make a diff. in the feel and power of the 5....I DONT KNOW>>>>>
Any help or information u can give me on the 525i would be greatly appreciated.......THANKS ALL!!!!!
Here is a couple pics of my car now.....

I really like 325's I think they are great cars. If the styling of the 525 is a big factor and the size, I say go for it. If the acceleration is a factor, you might want to consider keeping the 325. I had a 525 for a month while my 545 was in the shop. The handling was excelent, but I got use to the acceleration of the 4.4 v8. If you can wait and get the 530 with the new engine starting some time this summer, I would. I herd the 530 with the new engine is really great.
Just my 2c.

Or the 06 525 will have a de-tuned 3L engine (in the US at least) and something like 218 hp which is comparable to an 04/05 530 and should be lighter. Might go pretty good and who knows, you might be able to re-tune that engine eventually for not so much $.
I do like the E46 but it is too small for me. The difference in size between the E46 and the E60 is quite noticable. I think the E90 will be a bit bigger than the E46 so a new 3-series might be something to consider as well.

Size counts! If you're looking for more space the 5 is much more comfortable for 4 adults. The E60 may have a more refined ride but will still feel quick because of it's light-weight materials. The '04 3-series doesn't have it yet. I believe the new ones will also have more weight-saving materials. The new 3 is a little larger if you want to wait until June...but I'd wait at least past the first batch of the production line. The 5 is still a head-turner...I don't think the new 3 will be quite as evocative. Good luck.

Welcome a board BimmerStev3
well, if you are not concerning about speed.. 525i should have enough power.. if you can wait little longer.. I heard you can do euro delivery for 2006 already..

...wait for the MY 06 525i, it will actually have a 3.0L engine making ~218bhp, which may make it quicker than your current car

BimmerStev3:
Wait for the new 525. I drove a 525i Steptronic Touring, I thought it would be enough for me, but it really wasn't. But if you still want to buy the 193hp 525i, take the 6-speed stick tranny. Much more agile IMO.
