My Ride: 2004 530i
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
I love this car. I just got a 2004 530i. If someone could help me with questions, I'd appreciate it.
1. How often should I change the oil?
2. Is there a way I could get a copy of the window or sticker?
3. It doesn't look like it came with nav. Can the dealer add it?
4. Is there a way to tighten the turn signal stalk? It rattles when I hit the slightest bump.
Thanks guys,
Dan

welcome. a number of people change the oil themselves at about every 7k-10k miles, even though bmw sticks to the 15k mile oil changes. and for the nav, i believe there's a retrofit kit for it. enjoy the forums.

Welcome Dan.
1) The oil change interval is really up to you -- BMW feels that with a synthetic oil, the changes can be every 15,000 miles or so but most people feel that more frequent changes are a safer way to go...
2) I think any BMW dealer has the ability to print a window sticker based on the car's VIN. I could be mistaken about this though...
3) Search the forums here and look for Nav retrofit. I think it's possible in most cases (but others will chime in and add more detail.)
4) I seem to remember someone else complaining about a rattling turn signal but I don't recall the solution.
Did your car come with a warranty for stuff like this?
Enjoy the forums and more importantly, enjoy your car!

Yes, this is indeed the case. I had BMWNA fax me a printout of all the options and equipment on my CPO car. It was also a 2004 model.

I looked into adding Nav to my 2004 525i. If your car has Nav Prep you can do it without tearing the car apart. I forget the code for Nav Prep, but if you search this forum you will find it.
