Ok if it wasnt for the diligence of the amazing forum posters we would not have seen the pics first, I will note this forum WAS first with proper action so well done.
However - I cant see any changes and I now have a headache....
1. Ok the inside is much different granted
2. The rear headlights only look different when you switch them on ie LED lines instead of a bulb
3. I cannot see anything esle apart from the front lower spots...
However it does look in some pics that the arches are very more flared... now this could be photoshop I cant be sure....
And from the side the front of the car looks as though the line over the bonnet towards the floor is more of a circular arc, not too dissimilar to the rounded look the Volvo 70 and V60s have done to their front.
A guy posted a nice black one on here that was taken from the side.. I then went to BWW germany and spent an hour tying to see whats different....
Am I being a bit blond?

No, you just haven't owned a E60 and looked at it every day for a year or two.
Fact is, that the changes are not radical but it will be nice to compare them "live".
The pics do not tell everything.

Its called a mid life update, not facelift, so nothing major has changed on the exterior
Standard bumpers are new, but no metal panels are listed yet as changing in March
I believe the change on the trunk is a cover piece like on the M5 and not metal ( will still confirm )

This is the BMW way: all the important updates are under the hood.
New engines (twin-turbo!) and new gearboxes (sports auto with paddle shifters) are the big deals.

Go and see the document (PDF) behind the link. It is absolutely great and explains even the smallest changes in great detail.
