Hello everyone!!
I am possibly the newest e60 owner on this forum. I just bought a CPO 2006 530xi w/ 45K miles a week ago. Car has Premium package, Sport package and iDrive w/ Navi. It has a black exterior and auburn interior. I am a BMW-Convert as I used to be a Mercedes-Benz owner before. I had a w210 4matic, which was/is a great car minus 101 issues, but now belongs to my parents.
Hi MA-530XI
Just got the same set up as you in August with 39k miles with all items above. No Problemo so far. Put 19s on her with Potenza 960s and 35% Tinting. Am thinking of a sport M Kit all around, Sprint Booster, and a suspension Kit to lower.
E-60 Side Bar! All::: Is the H&R the only Sport Suspension kit out there to lower the 530 xi? Some say the ride is a bit harsher? I imagine the Dinan Stage 2 Suspension is another. No clue what a 2 stage is thou. Does Hamann make a Lower Suspension kit? DTD

However when time came to upgrade I just didn't like the Taurus looks of the new E Class so I decided to give BMW a try! A lot has been said about the reliability of these vehicles but if you do not try to fix what is not broken I hope it all goes well. MBworld forums were a great help with any issues on my Mercedes and I hope this forum will be the same.
As I am a new BMW owner I would appreciate for any input on what to look for around this mileage, common symptoms and any "forum agreed" maintenance schedule. I do not trust lifetime fluids and 15K mile oil changes although they are pocket-friendly!

First of all, aboard!!
I am a fairly new E60 owner, and my first advice would be try and not go digging too deeply for what kind of problems people are experiencing with their cars. Sometime, you will start noticing things that you would have never even been aware of, and then you're going to obsess over them and start pestering your dealer.
As far as maintenance, you are correct; you should not abide by the "lifetime fluid" for anything. The first thing you should do immediately is to replace the transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, and differential fluid. Please do not delay as the longer you wait, the more chances that it won't help.
Then, you should check when the last oil and filter replacement was done. Do not wait 15K. If you drive at least 12-15K a year, I'd change the oil every 7.5K miles and if you drive less than that, I would change every 5K miles or 6 months.
I have posted a recommended maintenance schedule from a parts distributor. They are a well respected outfit and I try to follow their maintenance schedule. So far, I have not had any major issues with my 3 series. I have had some issues with my E60, including a tranny replacement, but now that I am on top of it, I expect that with the proper maintenance and driving style, the problems should be much less frequent as my other BMWs. Here's the link to the "Ultimate maintenance guide:"
https://www.bavauto.com/newsletter/2...newsletter.pdf
Maintaining a BMW by BMW recommend schedule is very cheap, but the chances of needing major repair later are very high, while maintaing a BMW the old fashioned way can be expensive, but the chances of major repair work later go way down.
Your car looks wicked good.
Enjoy the ride. For the first time, I'm actually looking forward to snow and see how the Xdrive handles it.
Have fun.
