KAF, Thanks for posting this. I wasn't aware that they had yet another fix for the slam. Does it REALLY fix it? I got V19.x to fix the slam and have had a couple afterward, so I've been watching to see if they had yet another. My car is up for 35K mile service (Service I) and I will wait for V25 to be released and use the slam as the reason to update my car.

My strategy exactly. The service light is now on, showing 2000 miles so they better get 25 out soon !

hi

I got into my 2006 530D sort the other day and could hear the CD spinning and clearly hunting for tracks on the CD. Can anyone let me know how I tell what CIP version I have. I have also noticed that when the Idrive boots up that the BMW logo stays put for some time and also that the Idrive is a bit slow to react to imputs compared with my old 525 SE that I part ex for the new car. The 530 has professinal Sat nav. Any advice gratefully received.

Are you sure it is hunting for tracks on the CD and not the DVD? I was having similar issues with my iDrive a few weeks back: hunting, slow boot, slow in general. It had previously been working fine. I suspected that it may be due to a dirty Nav DVD because the iDrive re-boot alone didn't fix it. So, I ejected the Nav DVD and cleaned it then I reinserted it. So far that seems to have fixed it.

The link doesn't help much...just takes me to a sign-in page in German.

US car. Just got my car back from service today. Some work done, including the TCU flash recall.

I did get reprogrammed. Not sure which version. Comparing with the sample CIP 25 screens shown in German:
  • I don't have the newer iDrive menu screen.
  • I do have the new "i" screen which has newer icons and moves service to another menu.
  • I don't have the topographic view Nav display. Bu, that may be function of the Nav DVD version. I think mine is db NA 2006Q1.

Not Progman 25. Sorry.

BTW The new look nav is a function of the update. Nav DVDs just hold data.
