By "2-1 shift issue" do you mean the Steptronic Slam documented in here in other threads? Is there supposed to be another fix for this in 25?

The fix was earlier, 24.01. but I was hoping to delay the fix until 25 was out to take advantage of it's (promised) 'advances', whatever they might turn out to be!

Don't want to have to lose the car twice.

It's when you come either to a stop or nearly stop, the car stays in 2nd, then when you try to accelerate away there is a delay whilst it changes sharply into 1st while the revs are high and you get very sudden acceleration.

Some cars experience it more than others, mine has had it bad since I bought it.

KAF, my car was updated from 20.02 to 24.01 (or 24.02) two months ago, and the transmission slam is still there. Are you sure that the fix is in 24? Where did you hear this?

I just dropped my car at the dealer to get a change oil and the guy was pretty confused about me asking to update my software. When you guys go get the software update is it only for when you are having warranty issues?

I am trying to get the most updated program before I go get The Dinan Software tomorrow!

The dealer will only update your software if it needs to be done under warranty. Or if you are willing to pay for it.
But there are ways around this, for example you could complain about the CD changer continue spining after switch off (something that has been around all versions of Progman till now). Search the forums and you may find other examples.
