Hi fellows,

Due to a problem with the Park Distance Control, (Keeping beeping even when the engine was switched off with the key removed) the dealer replaced the CCC unit under warranty.

Pick the car up and noticed the fonts on the idrive has been changed and the main menu now looks different. Guess I have the latest CIP version, I was a happy man until I got home and realised the orange LED on top of both head lamp is not working.

Believe I have to book it in again.

What a pain.

That is one of the most important thing about the look of the E60 and they took it away :'(

Your's is the first report of this event happening after CIP 23 upgrade. We had it last year I think with 17 or 18 (not sure which - might not even have been one of these).

Oh, just found another problem with this version, now the radio volume will not go down while the Sat Nav lady is talking.

Folks,

Looks like my experience is the same as mario.kwok's... I had my car in on Wednesday for normal service (replace the rear brake pads). They told me there was a recall to reprogram the algo that calculates when oil changes are needed, and as a result, they upgraded the software (I think this was the first upgrade I've had since the aux input was installed back in mid-05). The invoice says: "SIB 12-06-06 RECALL REPROGRAMMING Program/code control units including CAS with CIP 23.02.01" And guess what - the orange "eyebrow" lights no longer work... sigh... Here we go again.
