That is just truley heart wrinching, why would someone defile someones personal property is beyond belief. I had the same thing happen to my brand new Nissan 240sx in 1990 at the movie theater. Man i feel for you and it looks like an entire car may be better painted if you can feel the scratches. Man i have to just cry for you but you have a good heart to not seem that upset about it good look on the repairs.

-Eddie- did you contact the insurance agency today? I had something similar happen to my MB...not as bad but still it was about $2000 damage. The insurance paid the full amount because it was considered vandalism. If I remember correctly...I didn't pay my deductible either.
Keep us posted

miss525i - didn't contact insurance yet as I wanted to get a few estimates first... Im going to get 2 tomorrow so should have more information then and will share.

Sorry to hear that you've been through this before -- never had this happen to my MB... or any other car I've owned - guess just wrong place at wrong time.

I'm so sorry to see your otherwise perfect car vandalized. It pisses me off when a bunch of punk asses can get away with that. It shows total disrespect for your hard earned money. I had a similar ass-clown put a ding in my right rear door not too long ago, despite the rest of my car being blemish-free, but clearly you seem to have gotten the shaft here.

For the lighter areas of damage there is a method known as "color sanding" at least I think thats what its called, where they use a very fine sandpaper to remove part of the clearcoat around the scratch so that it blends in better with the surrounding paint. Sometimes you can hardly tell the scratch was there. At least this is how I think the process works, beacuse they did it on my parents car in California and it worked out great.

Do keep us posted....

Any chance they had/have cameras in the parking lot and you can get a hold of the tapes?
