Not sure why the patent people do not get after various manufacturers for copyright infringement. I printed out these pics and placed them next to each other. Here are the potential infringement possibilities that I found:

1. each car has 4 wheels.
2. each car has 2 doors on each side.
3. each car has front lights, and they all light up.
4. each car has tail lights; they light up too.
5. each car has trunk.
6. each car has hood.
7. each car has windshield.
8. each car has rear window.
9. each car has side windows; they probably go up and down too.
10. each car has rear exhaust system.
11. each car has working windshield wipers, with a motor, switch, arms, and rubber blades.
12. and on and on.

Is there no honor among car manufacturers? Need to approach this from the old American way. Someone should sue somebody for possible infringement.

Not at all. You're looking with the specific intention of finding something. Take away your prejudices and what you are claiming to see really isn't there. The actual resemblance and similarity really is minimal.

More to the point, why do you even care? Even if you were right - and I think we've already established that you're not - imitation is said to be the sincerest form of flattery. Perhaps that's the best way to look at it.

GM likes to do this. The old SL500 (1990-2002) was copied by GM, Look at the Cadillac SLR.

+1000 Dave you hit the nail on the head there, no one under retirement age considers buying a Buick seriously.

I don't know about the similarity with the E60, but that Buick is practically the same car as Opel Insignia, which has been on the market for couple of years already:

I think the Regal looks more like the Lexus ES350.

The sonata copied the 5 series GT. Look at the resemblance. I think the new Accord was similar to the E60 but this year they updated the design by adding some ugly lights so....not so much anymore
