well it's arrived!!!!

530i mystic blue, auto, beige leather, dark poplar wood- combination geoooorgeous!!
adaptiv headlights, sat nav, air con advanced, blue tooth, 128 9j/8j wheels-- they really make it sit right.

what is everbody saying about bluetooth??? it took me 20 mins to pair my phone (had to work it out 1st time) and then 10 mins to pair wifies phone. Absolutely no probs --- pairs, recognises, turn off the on ign and phone book comes up no probs
both phones are T360i, tried em both and they work a treat.

anyway am going on 200 mile trip tomorrow on a route i have done 100 times in my 530 E39 sport so should get a real feel and a quantative analysis of the comparisons ---- will let you all know the results

well did the drive and here are my views

wish i had the sport seats---they do hold and support you better
wish i had the sports steering wheel--- better feel
they would be top of my wish list next time

however tyres are dunlop 007 and are quiet on a regular piece of road surfaced in concrete ---- A50 for you Brits!!!!
handling is slighly jittery maybe some tramlining and cross wind effects requiring minor corrections, must be the run flats

spirited driving reqires carefull handling, the new 6 speed box is quick on its changes and can catch you out mid corner with an up or down change, doesnt learn quite like the E39. I do miss the intensive screen wash, a separate bottle containing neat fluid, with a new car sprayed with the silicone based polish they use- all over the sceen- it just smeers!!!!

all else worked perfectly, smooth, quiet and quicker than you think!!!!!!!!

Now question??

How do you increase the volume of Ursula-- (the sat nav voice) with the radio or cd on sometimes she is hard to hear. Iceman, your the boy, tell me

Bye

Skydiver, each sound coming from the speakers, ie. Phone, Ursula (Nav chick), I-drive guy, etc responds to the volume knob. Adjust it while in that mode. i.e. adjust the volume while Ursula is speaking. That adjustment only applies to the sound of the moment.
