No official spec places them as neck and neck, and I've not seen many tests yet, but I'd have to doubt a low 5 second time for 0-60.? Lexus stability and traction control isn't really defeatable and would surely get in the way of any spirited stoplight action.
I hadn't, thanks for the heads up. Took a look, surprising numbers if accurate. Maybe once a few more tests are available we'll get to see a pattern and see what the average times look like over a number of tests. I just have some difficulty with a 5.1 second test when the specs I have seen to date seem to imply around 6 or 6.1 for the 0-60 run, but who knows. Fair play to them if it can indeed hit a 5.1 time.
I've seen your post of the IS350 and was quite intrigued by it, so off I went and purchased the new Motor Trend with the new cars for 06 issue. And guess what a comparo between the 2 cars(330i vs IS350), guess who won?? yea indeed the 330i with much less horse power!! it won on the track, braking and on the slamon. So all that horsepower in the IS350 is absoltely useless in real driving except from when you come to a stop light and you want to drag race of course!
Please read my post mentioned above more carefully. I mentioned, without referring directly to the magazine, the full compro test of various "in-class" cars in which the 330i won by a very small margin--C&D 10/05. The new MT, which came out after my original post, does not contain a full compro of even the 330i and the IS350. I immediately updated my original post/topic for the new acceleration data contained in MT--which gets to my house in the mail--probably before you got your copy. In my post I referred to above, I talked only about acceleration--that was its topic. I am, and previously was, well aware that the 330i out performs the IS 350 in most ways; that's one of the reasons it won the C&D 10/05 compro. For what it's worth, a golden rule of posting is be nice.
