Wow, when will this hit the showrooms?
I can hear the stampede of people rushing to cancel current orders for 2.0D's

So,
520d = 2 litre, 1 turbo, 4 cyl, 174hp
525d = 2 litre, 2 turbo's, 4 cyl, 204hp
530d = 3 litre, 1 turbo, 6 cyl, 235hp
535d = 3 litre, 2 turbo's, 6 cyl, 286hp

"the new unit releases just 129g of carbon-dioxide emissions per 100km"
Wow, if this is true the government will be paying us to drive them. Even if it is a typo it is a damn fine performance, especially as they appear to able to produce meaningful torque from 1200rpm, something that the current 2.0d cannot. I smell a winner, especially if they can develop a modern automatic transmission to go with it.

And the Twin Turbo 5X5 nomenclature wouldn't be compromised either...

Indeed. BMW are too clever to just dump the current 2 litre diesel and swap it for this one... There's money to be made original.gif
