My lease is up on my 535 in mid-November. I am considering buying the lease out, but had a question. About 6 weeks after I took delivery of my car, I was in an accident. The damage was over $40K for parts and labor. The car has been perfect ever since. I am considering buying the lease out, but will only do so if I can get BMW to lower the buy out amount. Has anyone had luck with this? I would think that BMW would consider negotiating since the car will certainly be worth less than speculated at lease end.

my lease is up in december...i'm contemplating the same thing...I've contacted bmw fs already regarding my buyout price...waiting for a reply

also, i'm sure the not so stellar history/reliability of the n54 hpfp has to effect the re sale value..even if they do warranty it for 10K/100K miles now....

at $40K for repairs, i'm surprised that the car was not totalled... i guess NJ and CA laws are different.

my car was never in any accident....only in the same position in regards to buy out price and possibly negotiating a better one...

Believe me when I tell you that I fought to have it totalled. The problem was the car was only 6 weeks old and the damages had to exceed 70% of the car's value. The original estimate came in at around $25K. It took 4 months to repair the car. Believe it or not, the car performs and looks as good as new.

I just spoke to a BMW FS rep by phone and he stated that lease end buy outs are "non-negotiable through BMW FS." He suggested trying to work something out with the dealership directly.
