Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum, I just recently purchased a 2007 530xi. The car did not come with the power folding side mirrors, it's getting really annoying folding the mirrors myself every time I parked the car. Does anyone know how to or where to get the parts? also if there any DIY I can look up. I would highly appreciate any help.
I have a pair form 2008 535xi ,color monoco blue for ($800.00)call 203 260.1420

So anyone say how you would get a post 09/05 car to get the normal folding mirrors to work if I bought a pair of auto fold mirrors from a post 09/05 car?

Is it just a case of fitting the mirrors and getting the car reprogrammed or would some sort of cable need to go in between the mirrors and car?

If you have a post 09/05 car in the UK then you have two possible mirror configurations.

1. 4 wires between mirror and car.
2. 3 wires between mirror and car.

If you have 3 wires between the mirror and the car then its a straight swap over between the mirrors, a new switch panel and programming. Thats it.

If you have the 4 wires between the mirror and the car. Then you have two options.
a. You need to do a small rewire, a new switch panel and programming.
b. Alternatively you can swap all the electrics from your old mirror into your M5 mirror and then use an After market folding module and connect up the puddle lights to the door lights. This option won't require any programming at all.

As several people know I have a near perfect set of Post Sep 05 M5 mirrors for sale. But if there is no interest in them I'll put them on my own car.

P.S.: I noticed I made an error in my previous post describing the mirrors and the date. The cut over date is Sep 2005 and not Sep 2006 as I mentioned in my note.

my e60 is dec/2009, so will it still have the configurations that u have listed above?

where can i get the aftermarket folding module. is it reliable n well fit? how much would it cost, roughly.

Dec 2009 is an LCI so it will still have one of the configurations as mentioned. You can use the aftermarket folding module only if you have the folding motors inside your mirrors. That will also involve some hacking inside the M5 mirror as well. It seemed to work well in the tests that I conducted on my work bench. But member nixdoof put these on this US car and there is a thread about it as well.
