I am selling my 04' 530i ( under 60k ) to my brother in the spring ( lucky him - its in phenomenal shape ). I want to get an LCI / 2008/2009 E-60 and I am flirting between the 535 / 550. I honestly just want more power and features. I am very familiar with the options and differences in the two, I am simply looking for advice from members on the decision. I will not be driving it in the winter as I have a company SUV starting next year. So - my price range will be 28-32k .... do you think its worth the extra 5k to get 60 more HP and the 550 allure? let me know your thoughts and thanks for reading.

I think from what you told us that you want a loaded 550.

I considered both back in June. I ended up buying a 2008 535 w/ sport package with 18k miles for $30k. The 535 gives you good bang for the buck and is very comparable in power ( I've driven both).

I didn't think so. But then I've always had the Camaro and several SUV's over the years to scratch the V-8 itch. Test drive both and go with what your gut feeling tells you. Either choice would be a good one.
