I got a 06 530 this weeekend, and i love the car how ever i was looking for one with a navigation but the one
I got doesnt..... So i need help on what i should do..... I saw that i can buy a whole navigation systen with the LCD
DVD slot and everything needed..... But i read that the screen wont fit cause its bigger... Another problem is the software
and needing it to be upgraded so everything works.... This seems like alot of things to do and know so i guess i wouldnt be able to
do it myself and the dealer would charge A LOT $$$$$$ SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT AND GIVE ME SOME IDEAS....IS IT WORTH IT??

My Ride: '05 545 Titanium Silver, Black Leather - Nav, Logic 7, Cold weather.
Mods:
Carbon filter removed.
M5 iDrive knob.
Umnitza license plate LEDs.
MP3
40% 3M tint
ACS Anti-Roll(sway) bars
RPI Scoop
G-tech Pro RR
CF Roundels
CF Wheel caps
You can spend a relatively small amount of money on a good GPS system (tomtom, garmin, navigon) and save your money for other mods. Vehicle integration is nice if you had it but the cost to retrofit a system that's based on 5 year old software is probably not worth it especially if you went to a dealer!

It will be much cheaper for you to sell the car and buy one with Nav already. Unless you have done this type of retro fits you will find yourself spending a ton to fix your mistakes.

TomTom. It's much cheaper and works better than BMW navigation.
Software upgrade (you have to this for the 2009-1 NAV-DVD) is not without risks (fall of modules).

Glad I didn't buy one from the dealer...
