So you have a drain plug on your radiator but you don't want to unscrew it? What else can it be?

Look at number 2. There's only one plug on the radiator and it's the drain plug.
You even have the same radiator as me.. Look at the part numbers and diagram

i could have sworn there was a drain plug on the lower passenger side of the radiator, on the side facing the engine. right next to where the power steering line goes into the radiator.

Model Year: 2004
Engine: N62
It is No. 2 in the diagram. I used a wide stubby screwdriver to open, with a transparent plastic hose pressed onto the opening.
Turn key on but DO NOT START the engine. Set heater to the max with fan on lowest setting. Use distilled water with the BMW coolant.

My Ride: SOLD...Jet Black 2008 550i M Sport with SAT, black interior. RPI exhaust and air scoop, 35% huper optik tint all around, CF roundels, flat black kidneys, Springfield Armory XD-40 jet black in glove box, charcoal filter removed.
Yeah, I posted that very diagram from realoem.com in my post earlier in the thread.
The only thing I can see, and I'll take a picture next time I take the bottom cover off of the car, is a RED plug on the bottom passenger side. Red isn't the normal color for a coolant drain plug.
And the car is two years old, was going to do it because I was bored and it wouldn't hurt.

Actually turbo, no, its another lifetime fill fluid according to BMW since 2004 (or 100,000 miles). I'm trying to follow Mike Miller's Old School Maint. schedule which recommends changing it every two years, which is what BMW used to recommend before the free maintenance when they had to start paying for the service. It's probably overkill, but I'm going to try to stick with his recommended schedule as much as possible as I plan on keeping my car for many years and miles to come.
