Why would i put my money into another car just because i want NAV? Reminds me of some of the E90 guys that couldnt make sense of why would somebody want to do this upgrade. You do know that a car loses more than $3500 in value a year? You think this is major, check out some e90 guys retrofitting idrive in their cars. When and if i decide to sell the car the CIC is coming out and im putting my M-ASK back.
As a car steadily loses its value over the years and becomes increasingly outdated, you reach a point where the cost of making modifications overshadows the value of what you are modifying.
The $500 - $600 I quoted is bluebook value for the NAV option. Nobody is going to pay near the premium you did - which is probably the reason why you said you would simply remove it when you sell it. So how much do you think you are going to get then? I'd bet MAYBE $1,500 - and that's if you happen to find someone else willing to pay for the install and coding - on a car that would be worth much less than it is now. And if you haven't realized it yet, 2-3 years from now you are going to see a flood of F10's coming off lease - making your CIC even more obsolete.
I'm not knocking you - I'm just saying I wouldn't do what you did.
