I need a little help. I was playing around with my nav today and I was looking up different resturaunts and when I exited from that area and went back to my main screen and then went entertainment area and then the screen splits on the right side I have a map and know in the map I have all little knifes and forks where all the resturaunts that I looked up were. How do I get rid of the knife and forks. Thanks

As far as I know, this is a feature of the nav system (do you have Business or Professional Nav?). Whatever POI type you search on seems to be remembered, even if you did not select any item, and the icon for that POI type remains on your maps pretty much until you do a search for something else. My E39 did this, and so does my E60 - knife&fork for restaurants, fuel pumps for gas stations, etc.

Usually, once I am done with my search/route, I go in and do a POI search for either a City Centre or BMW Dealer, which then leaves my maps marked with either a circle or BMW logo respectively. Not the best solution, but better than seeing a map littered with gas pumps, knives&forks, cameras, etc. Mine's a Nav Pro, btw.

When you have the nav map on the main (left) screen, bump to the vertical menu on the left and click the "i". This will turn off the offending "information" icons.
