I had them replaced at the dealer a couple of weeks ago because they were making a really annoying sound. They were good for a few weeks and now they sound the same again. Has anyone had this happen to them before?? Please play the video to hear what im talking about thanks!!

Sounds more like the wiper mechanism than actual wipers, i use 303 wiper blade treatment for my blades every 4-6 months basically cleans them of any grease or grime.

Man! that sounds terrible. I've listened to your sound byte and I think I agree with Big Scot. It sounds more like the wiper mechanism than the actual wipers. I had noisy wipers and I replaced them and all is fine now, but the noise was clearly coming from the blades scraping the windscreen. Your's kinda sounds mechanical.....give the rubber bit of the wipers another good clean to see if it improves things.

There's also been other posts about noisy wipers so worth doing a search and reading up.

Thumbs up

My two week old vehicle has similar "chattering" wiper blades. The dealer said it was caused by the Rain-X I applied to the windshield combined with this style of wiper. They offered to replace blades, but said it would not change. I have cleaned the blades and windshield well with a stronger cleaner and seems better; I'll still get blades replaced next time I'm at the dealer.
Does the Rain-X theory make sense or BS?

if it's blade vibration, you can eliminate it by waxing or polishing the windsheild.

I replaced our wipers last week- they were scrubbing across the windshield, even in heavy rain.

I waxed the windshield because I didn't want to spend $100 for some freaking wiper blades.

Well, the waxing of the windshield had zero impact.

$54 later (Founsd a place to ge them cheaper) she wipes smooth and skip free.

But damn! My F-150 didn't have blades that long (24")..

Its called wiper skid or chatter. It happens when the blade (the rubber wiping part of the blade) does not flip over on ther return or upward stroke. The fix is easy and requires only a pair of pliers of grips. Check which side is chattering the upward or downward stroke. Take the pliers / grips and bend the metal wiper arm gently in the opposite direction. IMPORTANT: don't bend the blade itself, only the metal wipler that is attached to the motor, just ease it gently dont bend it, it only needs teasing.

I think the Rain-X theory makes sense, my wipers started doing that too after rain-x was a applied. I think the alcohol in rain-x dried out the rubber wiper blades and made them hard and caused the chatter.

Thanks!! that's the first logical explanation I will give it a try tonight! I just don't understand why the dealer wouldn't know that.
