What does your passenger say about the ride comfort on your E60?
My wife likes the ride. But, as with others, she doesn't always like the driver.

You mean I have to buy new tires already? Well, I guess whatever makes the wife happy. Who has replaced their runflats and how much different (more comfortable are the none runflats) on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being extremely more comfortable?
My wife and I both liked the RFTs very well. But, that might not hold true if they were worn. You may have said it, but how many miles are on your RFT's? Scale value = 8--at least when new.

My wife and I sat down yesterday talking about the new Lexus LS460, and she mentioned that she "dislike" the E60 ride because it is too firm. I mentioned to her that she must like the "sofa on wheels" of the MB or Lexus (quoting from someone on this forum). Here's a short dialogue:

Bimmer32: Well, it's a great driving car. It's really fun to drive.
Wife: Yeah, but the passenger and back seat are so rough and crampy with the baby.
Bimmer32: Well, you can't compare a Sequoia with a sedan. And how come you didn't tell me before we bought the car?
Wife: Well, it's you're car. I like the way it looks, but the ride is not as comfortable as the CAMRY.

I fell out by chair. After a while, I was thinking, I guess as a passenger, one doesn't anticipate every turn and road condition, then the ride is not as enjoyable as the driving.

What does your passenger say about the ride comfort on your E60?
funny conversation... but i have to say... my wife and i had the same conversation.... she would rather be in her 97 camry... and want to buy a newer one.......
to change the subject , i test drove he 07 s550 mercedes... very nice ride and interior.. the screen has the option to pan left or right... lots of bells and whistles o that.. i wouldnt mind having one..eric d

I am driving a loaner 530xi without RFT and sport seats now, it is noticeable more comfortable than my 530i with sports package. BMW cars are build for handling, you can't ask for one and not compromise others like comfort.

I often drive MB E-class and Lexus GS (compare apple to apple), they are more comfortable than e60, but e60 handles way better when I do fast tight turns.

There is no car that can be best of everything, I'll purchase a car that suit my style of driving.

My Mom with her 2005 530i with Sport Package just loves the ride of her E60. she is 55. Before she had the 530i she had a 2002 525i and tested the Mercedes Benz E320 before she traded the E39 for the E60. Different cars for different persons.

Women ... what do they know about great cars?

Joke a side... she has a good point. I think to be a driver in the E60 is a lot more fun than to be a passenger.
I am glad this is my car and no one gets to drive it or to be a passenger
...if I had to be a passenger in someone else's car, I would choose comfort MB S class "sofa on wheels " or 7 series.

OK, since we are talking about comfortable rides - to be a passenger in I'll add my opinion

When my 76 Rolls Royce was running it was the most comfortable car to ride in ever - slow up and slow down over every bump - was smooth enough to keep a full cup from spilling - but the terrible handling also prevented one from taking corners to fast

As far as modern cars I have to vote for my mothers Deville - not great handling but the room and the ride - are superb - this is what the americans excel at and IMHO no one in the world can keep up
Though they still can not come close in a sports sedan to the Europeans

There is a big difference between RIDE and HANDLING.

RIDE is the comfort one enjoys in driving or riding in the car. Cadillacs usually have a great ride. A camry has a good ride.

HANDLING is the ability of the car to perform well under dynamic changes in velocity and vector. The E60 has great handling.

IMO, women like a good ride. Men like good handling.

Bimmer32, I think we have the same wife. My wife loves the look of the car but hates riding in the back with our baby so whenever it's a family outing, we take the MDX and I can't take the E60.

But I think both our wives have a point, especially being in the back seat with a child carseat in the middle. It's a little cramp. It's roomier in our MDX and the back seat reclines a bit too.
