Man what the hell is SIB? lol..i'm not putting it in rice or the freezer, i didn't take it out of the car, its hanging out of my trunk for the past 12 hours trying to get it to dry- i'm gonna reconnect the battery in about an hour and drive the car to the shop

Good chance you will fry what is inside if it is still wet in there when you put power to it. Of course it will then be too late to put in rice.

i drove it for about 2 hours last night before i even figured out what happened, so i hope it can make it another 10 miles to the shop

LOL!!! Rice ftmfw!!! I love being asian glw the insurance man I hope they take care of it if anything bad happens. This happened to my cl type s back in 06ish. Since then I only park in the garage

Took the car to BMW - they said they can just run a disgnostics, or i can wait as it can dry....so thats what i'm doing...everything is working fine now no crazy idrive messages, just says (head unit needs to be reprogrammed) thats the message i get now when i start the car, no more crazy other messages

damn, too late now, but it would have been best to dry out the car BEFORE you started and energized it.

I have 2 525i's and the same thing happened to both my cars. I took the car to the dealership and of course they blamed it on the aftermarket lights, so I ended up paying 2k. The second time it happened to my other car I said "screw" the dealers. I replaced the module you took a picture of myself and it costs about $260.
