Thanks to everyone. It's really cool to read thru the comments. The '02 model year seems to have been a solid, reliable one and the all wheel drive for the ice is so important up there. His lady friends should like it, too. It's got fold downs.

, I was very unsure of the switch from the 3 to my 5 I had put lots of love intot he 3 but I needed something bigger for the family. Congrats on the "new" 3 series e46's are great cars still my favorite bmw body style.
