my son has a ride!

Well folks, it was time. My son is entering his sophomore year at Colby College in Waterville, Me. and it was time to have him enter our BMW family. Prestige BMW, where I did my purchase, had an '02 E46, 325xi. with around 48k. Driven by a local Ramsey area woman, it was bought at and serviced at Prestige so my service pro, Jim, knew all about the vehicle. It was only at the pre-owned dept. for one day. Silver with gray, premium pkge., new tires and Eddie threw in an mp3 plug-in gratis. He also made a very long cell phone call to him explaining every aspect of the vehicle to him. It was clearly important to this guy that it was a first vehicle. I appreciated that for sure. The vehicle was meticulously cared for. I had never driven this model and I was quite surprised how nimble it was even with all-wheel drive.
My son was working in Washington DC at the time and I called him with the news, but the look on his face when he first saw his "new" ride spoke a thousand words!
This time of year we head off for Truro on the Cape and this year it was a tandem run. Good thing because he could really give the thing a proper shake down cruise to check everything out. It performed admirably! The he took it off to school on Sunday. That was quite a feeling for me. I wish him love, happiness and safe driving. We now have a new member of our beloved BMW family!
