Default Is my Rear Main Leaking?

I recently did turbos and oil pan on the car. While doing the oil pan, there was a bit of oil seeping from the bellhousing area. I would wipe it up and it would be moist quickly (even with no oil pan installed) and show some oil within a few days. Its been a week since I've done the job and been driving around. Today I took a look under the car before I buttoned up the bottom plastics and Its still coming out around the bellhousing. The area around the oil pan gasket is dry. Except for some oil at the lowest bolt where the pan meets the bell housing as well as some oil residue following the side of the bellhousing to oil pan. It looks like its coming from above the oil pan and leaking down.

It looks like its coming from above the red arrow as it was a bit moist right above that lip. Its dry below the yellow line and the white line is where its moist along the bellhousing & oil pan until the very bottom oil pan bolt where there is also some accumulation.

Also called the bedplate to block joint. Mine is leaking in two places - next to the rear crank shaft seal, and on the side of the engine, just behind and between the turbos. It's just weeping slowly at 210,000km, I've decided just to live with it. I've fixed most other leaks on the engine - oil pan, head gasket, valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket and both crank seals.

Wow, that sucks a lot. After reading on TIS I sure wouldn't want to deal with that. I don't even know how one gets to some of the eTorx bolts in that photo with those other protrusions right there.

I wish I had TIS access. I found out recently newtis got removed... either way not a job I'm interested in doing if in fact it is this issue.

For that leak in my previous photo - I cleaned everything up, and then pulled the eTorx bolt and filled the cavity with silicone sealant. I replaced the bolt, torqued it carefully, and watched excess sealant squish out around the bolt head. I then sanded the surface around the joint slightly, and applied a layer of silicone sealant. Then - because that area is right behind one of the cats (I think that may be why it's leaking there in the first place - heat cycling from the cat) - I applied a small strip of 22 gauge aluminum sheet to reflect heat from the silicone repair. At the last oil change it seems to be holding and helping somewhat - I don't expect it to be a perfect repair, just to slow it down a bit. There's no way I'm pulling the engine out and splitting it just for this...

Wow that's one way to do it. How long ago did you do this and have you seen any oil since>?

It's been about a year since I made that repair. I checked it recently when I was doing the last oil change, it seemed to be holding fairly well. I still get some weeping but the area around the repair isn't nearly as wet as it used to be. So far, so good.
