My Ride: e39 525i Touring, will order e61 as soon as I can decide on engine and options...

I like the single pipe, reminds me of the e39 with M-sport package. Huge single pipe. Better than double "fake" small pipes. ;-)

Single exhaust is standard in the European cheapest diesel (1995cm3 / 163 hp / 340Nm)
That's why there's only one, yet quite wide pipe for me
And, as for me, it didn't bother me at first, but after delivery I started to think that it looks a bit strange (ugly?), and the least I can do is to add there some nice, sporty, better looking ending - and maybe a better 2(or 4) pipes exhaust later along the way...
We'll see about it!

Any chance, Igor that you remember who did you talk to about this mp3 update? Or, how was it done? They just seem not to know whay i am talking about...
A name would help me to get to the right person there - Thanks in advance for your reply if you remember who did it for you!

Nice car, I think the chrome grill would be great on the Ti-silver car. Not too much money but adds a nice touch.

Champagne? I think you are suppose to smash it on the hood before the car backs out of the dealer's garage. That's what they do for delivery of yatch...

P.S. In case you are heading out to the garage right now with the bottle of Champagne, I am just kidding

THANKS!!
As for the number plate, there's no trick at all. Like in the US - you can choose here almost whatever you want, and it's only about 30 EUR extra (normal, first available plates cost 20 EUR, personalized: 50EUR). They just have to keep one of the 3 patterns: 4 digits (plates like: "4444"), 5 digits (plates like: "55555"), or 2 letters + 4 digits (and you get to choose both, so it could be anything like: "ZZ 1234" "YY 5678", etc. But since it is a small country (whole country has less habitants than half of Cracow's in Poland...) so there's no regional division and you can basically choose whatever you like.
So WW, SK, DW, or more generally: PL (in this case) are quite popular among my friends - you know what I mean, Przemek, right?

I'll be looking out for your car in Warsaw this summer ;-).
Well, I wasn't planning on driving my new E60 to Warsaw just yet - well, you know... return flight tickets are still expensive in the summertime as my friends constantly laugh at me while asking me: Jarek, when are you going one-way to Poland with your new BMW?
But, as I checked, recently none of the BMWs is on the top-ten list of most likely to be stolen brands these days... Other story if you drive VW, Audi, or Volvo...

I did not know about Euro specs but here in North America the spec of the 2007 model clearly states that it has MP3 capability. It's written in black and white, BMW should figure this out themselves since you should get what you paid for. With MP3 I can put 6 CDs in one which pretty much eliminates the need for a CD changer. Double check the spec for 2007 to see if MP3 capability is listed there.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I double-checked, and even my Owner's manual says - the radio will play mp3, but the dealer still needs time to figure out why this client is bothering them again, and again, and again... First, I was complaining about 4 months waiting for the car, now I am this "strange client" who wants some strange music format to play in his car...
Well, if it wasn't for the pure driving pleasure, I would never buy BMW for their service / customer service - I think they might be actually the worst out there...

My dealership experience wasn't exactly top-notch either. It's the car that draws me to BMW.

Since the spec clearly states that the radio plays MP3, you should raise your voice if they drag on for too long. Or contact BMW in Europe directly. This just isn't right.

THANKS!!! I really love how this car handles on the road, and even with only 163hp it still "feels" so much faster and powerfull than my old 528i (193 hp)

I did not even have to talk to any tech-pro there <_< . Just go to aftersales people. Ask for Frank Becker.
Wit a reference to Igor Stepine tell him you wud also like to have MP3 and apparently need a software update.
They never know what the current version is but that shud be sufficient.
