Default My new 550i in monaco blue! Joining the community

Just bought a used 2006 550i, manual, with 63k miles! (PM me if you want to know a price for a comparison)

Wanted to introduce myself and ask my first question:

What is the easiest way to get my iPhone 4S to play audio in the car, is it the Denison Gateway 500?

Here she is! Not the best photo because I bought her at night. I'll get some better ones soon I'm sure

Congrats and Welcome! Yes tell us mileage....details!
The easiest way to play audio? You should have an Aux Port at the rear of the center console, in the passenger compartment. Not really the best way.

Congrats and never buy a car at night, so many things are hidden when its dark, like scratches and dents etc...

Welcome!

You'll enjoy the V8. It's hard stay off the gas pedal the first couple of weeks - fuel efficiency moves from miles/gallon to gallons/mile but what the hell!

It's worth every penny of fuel!

Enjoy!

Thanks guys, appreciate the warm welcome. It's got 63k miles. Has the sport and winter packages. No aftermarket upgrades to my knowledge. And no navi though, which I'm bummed about. Not that I need it, but the larger CIC (I think it's called) display looks so nice.

AUX port in the passenger compartment? I'll check on that! That would be awesome. I noticed there is a memory card slot of some sort in the middle compartment. Not sure what card it would fit though. Regardless, if there is an AUX port, then I'm good to go.

I'm not sure if it's got comfort access or anything else. In fact, I'm not exactly sure what options are available on the 2006 550i model, other than I know my steering wheel heats up and I have a rear lip on the car. Blacked out when I bought the car, overwhelmed by how beautiful it is

You should of had your VIN decoded before you bought it so you know what packages and options your car has. It seems like you have the sport and cold weather packages. The navi out cars have is the CCC unit. Their are a lot of things you can do to the car like angel eye upgrade, led upgrades, bumper and side skirt upgrades etc... Not to many performance upgrades since our cars are kind of maxed out from the factory.

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the new (to you) car. Just to play audio from your Iphone, yes, an AUX cable is easiest and cheapest way to go (OEM cable is $60, programming about another $80-120) . If you want to control your phone from the iDrive you can get either a) Denison Gateway or b) install the OEM iPod integration kit, I think both run about $750 installed.
