My I-Drive screen and radio won't come on?

well I guess updating the software is not all the time good to the car. I am still using the older software/program and everything is working well (radio, eyebrow etc.).

My Ride: 2004 530i - titanium grey/blk/anthracite, Nav, SMG, Sport, Premium, Cold Weather, HUD, moonroof, heated steering, xenon active lighting, Dakota leather, power all.
I have encounter the i-drive screen black out on three separate occassion now. All this happen after my car had a PROGMAN update to enable BT & Mp3 two weeks ago. I have an appointment to bring the car back to the dealer in order to fix the occassional black out i-drive screen. I can on relate this newest problem to the PROGRAM 24.00 update. Should I wait for the version 25.00 instead, my car already has the latest software update?? THis sucks...everytime I bring the car in for a fix, something else becomes a problem as a result.

18570 Found loose and melted wiring to module. Replaced module and affected wiring terminals, checked operation.
Think I'm going to "TRY" and make an MP3 CD from Itunes and see if it works... I doubt it

I hope we don't have to call tech support in India for software related issues with our BMW in the future. Can you imagine the conversation...hahahaha?

I have encountered the same I-Drive screen problem since getting a spftware updtae about 4 weeks ago. I am told that the latest version of software that will be available in March will correct this problem along with the ongoing problem of the CD player (after returning from the sleep mode) not starting from where you left off but rather 2 minutes and 50 seconds later. Based on past experience with software upgrades i do not have a lot of confidence that the problem will be solved.

Easy fix for stereo problem
Obviously something's not right -- do you have navigation? If you do, the there is a reboot feature that might at least get it going until the dealer can make it work the way it's supposed to...
