Exclamation

Just dropped off my son for his first year at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Quite a school, incidentally. I purchased this vehicle in the middle of December 2006. It was a fabulous trip. I averaged over 22 mpg. It drove solid as a rock. Everything performed beyond my expectations.
Cheers and enjoy the remainder of the summer in your e60s!

i have just looked at many 545/550i owners mpg they mention, and to think its quite a drain, but fuel is like almost free in the USA.

Imagine doing 22mpg here in UK, Were the government extorts us for ?1.00 a litre.

what is the average consumption on 550i, 545i , actual peoples experience rather then BMW book figures,

must be around less then 25mpg combined??

correct me if i m worng

Good luck with the car! I'd give anything to go back to college and do it all over again. Those fraternity days were some good times.

I just drove back from Hilton Head and for the round trip from Atlanta averaged about 23 mpg (mostly highway driving). When in the city I average about 17.5 mpg.

I live around NYC and my '07 550i Manual Sport only gets 15.1 mpg (overall average). I drive a good mix of medium traffic and highway. My '04 545i SMG got 18 mpg (same exact conditions). Does this sound right? Even if I control my shifts to try and keep the MPG gauge high at all times, I can still only eek out 15.5.
