My Ride: BMW 520d msport. 2006. Chipped. Compared to my brothers e60 mine flys!
Default

Hi new to this. When I drive my 2006 520d doing 30mph in 3rd gear and try to accelerate it juddered as if it's struggling. However when I put my foot down it goes and the juddering disappears. Also on the motorway doing 70 to 80 mph same thing happens when trying to accelerate. What could this be? My brothers 2006 520d doesn't do this in any gears. However my car is chipped and running around 200bhp compared to the standard 160 bhp. Any advice would be appreciated.

Try disconnecting the MAF sensor cable and go for a test drive. This will cause an error message, but if it's the dirty MAF, unplugging it should make the car act smooth. Sure you have to clean the MAF then and get the error code removed anyway.

Thank you for that. Where will I find the MAF? Is it anything major?

MAF and the cable are located in the red circle:
