I talked with my dealer today to update my car CIP to a newer version.

But he says that he doesn't know what is CIP and don't know about updating.

So I told him that I will print a document from BMW to show him what is CIP

so could someone please provide me a document of any CIP version (latest one if possible), and the document is from one of your dealer, so I can convaince my dealer???

Maybe he knows the term Progman instead?

I'm not sure if this applies in the UAE, but in the States the dealer creates two documents whenever any service work is done: the Measures Plan and the Final Report. I know at least the Measures Plan will have a string of numbers and letters called the "Target Data Status" (or something similar). It should look something like E060-06-12-510 (which translates to version 24.00).

You can use this list to translate the Target Data Status:

Dont talk to sales people, talk only to the Head mechanic of the dealer

The Mechanics are the ones trained to load Progman programmes

sometimes the service manager (salesmen you give your car to) doesnt know anything all he does is give the keys to the mechanic with the complaints, had the same problem with MP3s told him just tell the mechanic...luckly the mehchanic understood and did whats asked...
keep in mind that most deallers wount update the car unless you have a certain SW complaint.
